In cooperation with TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM TR Index and Academic Journals, "Scientific Publishing Seminars" were held online on June 23, 24, 25 and 30, 2020.
The seminars with 4 different themes, namely "Authorship", "Refereeing", "Editing" and "Research and Publication Ethics" were broadcast live on ULAKBIM TV YouTube channel.
On the first day of the seminar, Prof. Dr. Muttalip GÜNDOĞDU moderated Prof. Dr. Canan ULUOĞLU on "Authorship", Prof. Dr. Canan ULUOĞLU on "How to Write an Article and What Should be Considered in Article Writing?", Prof. Dr. Ali Ekber ŞAHİN on "Journal Selection in the Article Publishing Process" and answered questions.
The seminar on "Refereeing" was moderated by Prof. Dr. Mustafa YAMAN. In the seminar, Prof. Dr. Berna ARDA, one of the TR Index Committee Members, presented "Why Refereeing is Important and Necessary?" and Prof. Dr. Emine ÖZMETE presented "Article Subtitles and Referee Evaluations".
Prof. Dr. Cem UZUN, one of the members of TR Index Committee, presented "How to be a Good Editor?", Prof. Dr. Ertuğrul KILIÇ, "Evaluation of the Widespread Impact of Scientific Research in Our Country and Our Expectations from Editors, Referees and Journals" and Prof. Dr. Orhan TATAR, Editor-in-Chief of Turkish Journal of Earth Sciences, presented "Editor, Author and Referee Relationship in International Academic Journals: How are we doing in Turkey?" made their presentations.
The last of the "Scientific Publishing Seminars" was held on "Research and Publication Ethics" moderated by Prof. Dr. Cem UZUN. In the program, Prof. Dr. Canan ULUOĞLU gave information on "Research Ethics", Prof. Dr. Berna ARDA on "Publication Ethics" and Prof. Dr. Ali Ekber ŞAHİN on "Ethical Issues in Social Sciences".
Approximately 40 thousand people watched the programs, which were held with the leading scientists of our country and attracted great interest, on our YouTube channel. As TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM, we will continue to organize new training programs in order to contribute to the development of national periodical publishing.
