TUIK PostgreSQL Feasibility Project, Initiated with the contract signed on August 29, 2024 within the scope of the cooperation between TUIK and TÜBİTAK ULAKBIM, this project aims to analyze the transition of TUIK's critical data infrastructure to the open source PostgreSQL database system and to carry out R&D and preparation activities in this field. Designed to pioneer open source transformation in public institutions, this study tests the usability of PostgreSQL infrastructure in public services in terms of data security, performance and sustainability. The project outputs will serve as a guiding model not only for TurkStat but also for other public institutions with similar transformation goals.
